Albert Henry Payne

On 14 December 1812 Henry Albert Payne was born in London. He was as an engraver, painter and illustrator. After 1838 he worked in Leipzig, becoming a citizen of the city in 1845. Payne also founded the publishing house "Englisch Kunstanstalt" in Leipzig creating illustrative works for it like among others "Payne's Boy", "Dresden Gall", 1845; "Payne's ill. London, Lo", 1846; "Payne's Orbis Pictus", Dresden and Leipzig 1851, and many more. The artist died in Leipzig on 7 May 1902.
