In 1625 Francisco de Zurbarán married for the second time, to the wealthy widow Beatriz de Morales, the daughter of a patrician from Llerena. On 17 January, 1626 Francisco signed a contract with the prior of the Dominican monastery San Pablo el Real in Sevilla, committing to make 21 paintings within eight months.
