Jean-Honoré Fragonard
Biography
The French painter Jean Honore Fragonard was born as the son of a not very well-heeled perfumer in Grasse. The laeter artist had lessons with Francois Boucher. On account of the French Revolution in the summer of 1789, Fragonard lost his aristocratic employer and fled back to his hometown. In 1791 Jean Honore Fragonard painted the precious picture series "Love's progress in a young girl's heart". These pictures were designated for the casino in the Pavillon of Louveciennes near Paris. In the end, however, the buyer refused to display them there. Jean Honore Fragonard died in 1806.
