Signed, dated and dedicated. On copper plate printing paper. 76,5 x 56,2 cm (30,1 x 22,1 in), size of sheet.
This impressive graphic work is the original model for the likewise rare etching (cf. Mataré/De Werd 394. Peters 321). Yvonne Georgi was choreographer and dancer at the Düsseldorf Opera. On his liking for illustrations of dancers Mataré wrote in his diary on 17 April, 1953: "[..] Portrait drawings of Düsseldorf dancers are dear to my heart, I made a drawing of the charming Doris Hoffmann, now I am depicting Georgi and the next will bethe dancer 'von Rothe'."
