By recommendation of Gustav Schiefler Nesch visited Edvard Munch in Oslo in 1933. Just as Munch, Rolf Nesch was fascinated by Scandinavian winters. In the series "Schnee" he rendered the immediate impression of his first Scandinavian winter in black and white metalprints, managing to visualize the silence. [EH]
