Triangolo No. 2. 1999.
Bronze with gold brown patina.
Gualdoni 1013. With name, date and number on base. From an edition of 8 copies. 20.5 x 17.5 x 6 cm (8 x 6.8 x 2.3 in). [SM].

A strong relief from the sculptor's spirited late period of creation.
Accompanied by a photo expertise issued by the artist, July 2000.

In our "Triangolo" Pomodoro shows a convincing variation of his established image principle: The relief takes the place of the three-dimensional form. This way a concentration on the pure form is realized which the observer sees from a largely undistorted perspective. Pomodoro itemizes the geometrical form as such on the two equal sides of the triangle. The interior structure of one side is entirely dedicated to the triangle which appears in closed bodies and in aslant lines. The other side puts the focus on the circle, drawn through by lines like a cross. Claw-like parallel structures combine both sides and illustrate the topos of a universal dualism and make the relief a geometrical yin and yang.
