Large-size lithographs are not rare in the graphic oeuvre of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. This means that Kirchner had access to large litho-stones of which he used the entire surface for his works. Kirchner's vast graphic oeuvre is unimaginable without the lithographs in which he had made distinguished works that enriched expressionist graphic art more than it is the case with any other artist. The artist's typical manner is also decisive for this work's style. The intimate subject, which calls reminiscence of Art Nouveau, benefits from this style. With his graphic works Ernst Ludwig Kirchner added the very meaning to the art of Expressionism which made it so important in the early twentieth century.
