Mack's objects are removed from their material basis through the artistic integration of light and shade. Depending on light incidence, they become ever new ephemeral creations. It is no longer solely the materiality of forms that make for the overall impresion, the light defines the forms expressiveness, it dematerializes matter and takes it to another level. With varying direction and intensity of the light incidence, the overall effect of his poetic creations changes. Not only do they elude any form of concreteness as far as the subject is concerned, just as it is the case with this work, they also allow the observer to partake in an almost metaphysical art experience.
