Hand-made print with fresh colors from a very small edition.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (acquired driectly from the artist).

Our sheet with the inscription "VIII. état" is in a state between the two variants described in Helliesen/Sørensen with the numbers 704 and 705. It is a wonderful example of Rolf Nesch's great love for the detail and the diversity of his methods. The background complies with the sheet mentioned in the catalog raisonnée under number 704, the agile figure, however, is turned to the left, as it is the case with sheet 705. Here still without parts of the grarment and the physiognomy. It is this very playful component of his compositions that makes Nesch's works so exciting. [EH/JA]
