Nacktes tanzendes Paar. Um 1923.
Etching.
Signed. On creme wove paper. 15.4 x 10.4 cm (6 x 4 in). Sheet: 39,7 x 29,5 cm (15,6 x 11,6 in).
This work is very likely to be one of a very few prints of a lid of a brass box (Wietek 65), made around 1923. Mr Wietek wrote the following about it in his catalog raisonneé: "´We can not exclude that impressions from the brass plate of this box that can not be proven today, just as it was the case with the table plate insertion no. 62, were made before the joining." (quote after: Gerhard Wietek, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. Plastik und Kunsthandwerk, 2001, p. 236). [EL].

We are grateful to Christiane Remm M.A., Brücke-Museum Berlin, for her kind expert advice.

PROVENANCE: Private collection USA.
