Signed, dated and numbered. From an edition of 50 copies. 99.5 x 70.7 x 3 cm (39.1 x 27.8 x 1.1 in).
Over century's the burn mark saw a conceptual transformationl. Used as physical punishment in the Mddle Ages, the connotation also includes outing today. Otto Piene adds another dimension to the association chain - marking animals with a burn mark, in this case in form of a hoof, symbolizing ownership and affiliation with a certain group. [FS].
