Pike som grer håret. (Mädchen, sich das Haar kämmend). 1940.
Color Metal embossing print.
Helliesen/Sørensen 552. Signed. Copy aside from the at least 6 copies mentioned in the catalog raisonné, the single sheets vary in make. On firm wove paper by Van Gelder Zonen (with watermark). 58 x 45 cm (22.8 x 17.7 in). 65,5 x 50,2 cm ( 25,7 x 19,7 in).
Sheet 21 from the series "Badeszenen" which was never shown as a complete series. The reason may be that the artist never regarded the series as complete. Bathing scenes occured in his oeuvre for the first time in 1935. Nesch's letters to the Nesch collector Dr. Reinhard des Arts from Hamburg deliver proof of his occupation with the series in autumn 1939 and the following spring.
Another copy of this motif is in the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Oslo. [EH].

PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany.
