Graue Formen. 1931.
Oil on board, originally laminated on creme structured board.
Lower right monogrammed and dated, as well as signed and dated in lower right on backing board. Verso of backing board signed, dated and titled. 24.8 x 32.2 cm (9.7 x 12.6 in). Original backing board: 28 x 35,8 cm ( 11 x 14,1 in).
One of the rare early compositions that were made right after Winter had completed his studies at the Bauhaus in Dessau (1927-1930) where Josef Albers, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Oskar Schlemmer were among his teachers. [JS].
