Nails and white paint on canvas, on panel.
Not in Honisch any longer. Verso signed, dated, titled and inscribed, as well as with a direction arrow. 40 x 40 x 8 cm (15.7 x 15.7 x 3.1 in).

This work is registered in the Uecker Archiv under the number GU.82.108 and will be noted for inclusion in the forthcoming Uecker Catalogue Raisonné.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany (acquired from the artist in 1983).

"What we consider our visible and recognizable reality is connected with a reality that we don't see. And when I peck at it, lets say with an object like the nail, to combine them in order to proclaim both realities, I sometimes succeed in creating a sort of visual poetry. [..] I strive to tie things in with one another, the utterable with the unutterable and to render pictorial accounts thereof."
