Signed and dated in lower left as well as inscribed with the artist's name on verso of the stretcher, presumably by a hand other than that of the artist. 81 x 100.2 cm (31.8 x 39.4 in). [CH].

• Part of the exhibition "Große Kunstausstellung" at the Haus der Kunst in Munich the year it was made.
• Particularly early work from the important 1950s, a time that marked Corpora's turn to Abstract Expressionism.
• Between 1948 and 1956 Corpora participated four times in the Venice Biennale and also showed works at Documenta I and II in 1955 and 1959.
• In 1952 Corpora founded the artist group "Gruppo degli Otto" together with Giuseppe Santomaso, Giulio Turcato and other artists.
• Works by the artist from the 1950s are on display at, among others, the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo/New York
