Auf Paracelsus basierend, aber auch von der Kabbala und den Spätplatonikern stark beeinflußt, schuf er ein naturphilosophisches, anti-aristotelisches System, das in okkulten Kreisen höchstes Ansehen genoß. - Der vorlieg. Bd. I behandelt Arithmetik, Geometrie, Perspektive, Malerei, Festungsbau, Zeitrechnung (mit Abb. einer Sonnenuhr), Kosmographie, Astrologie, Geomantik, Musik (vgl. Eitner IV, 9) etc. - Etw. gebräunt (vereinz. stärker), wenige Bll. gering fleckig, tlw. knapp beschnitten, gegen Ende tlw. mit kl. Wurmspur und Randverstärkung im Fußsteg, letzte 2 Bll. mit kl. Läsuren, Titel vo. und gefalt. Taf. vo. mit Bibl.-Stempel.Vol. I (of 2). 2 parts bound in 1 volume. Pt. I in first, pt. II in second edition. Deals with arithmetics, geometry, perspectives, painting, construction of fortifications, chronometry (with illustr. of a sundial), cosmography, astrology, geomancy, music (see Eitner IV, 9) etc. 19th cent. half vellum. - Somewhat browned (here and there stronger), some staining to few leaves, partly cropped close, some leaves with small wormhole and strenghtened in lower margin, last 2 leaves with little marginal defects, titles and folding plates verso stamped.
