"This encyclopedic work on comets, composed of numerous reports of observations of the bright comet of 1664-1665, a history of all known comets, and a treatise on their correspondence with terrestrial events, is liberally illustrated with celestic maps of comet paths. Since each map represents the observations of a different astronomer, taken together they illustrate the variety of cartographic traditions popular during the seventeenth century" (Warner). - Fehlen 2 nn. Bll. Ergänzungen & Tafelverz. am Ende von Tl. II, sonst komplett. - Wenige Bll. leicht fingerfleckig, gest. Titel knapp beschnitten, die dreif. gefalt. Tafel tls. mit Quetschfalten und wenigen kl. Läsuren, 2 Bll. in Tl. Insges. guterhaltenes, nahezu fleckenfreies Exemplar.
