Das umfangreichste Garten-Lexikon seiner Zeit.

Erste deutsche Ausgabe eines der bekanntesten Werke zur Gärtnerei des 18. Jahrhunderts. "This celebrated dictionary by a writer known for his knowledge of botany, and for his skill in gardening, proved a sucess from the start. Many editions appeared in England, and versions were published in Holland, France, and Germany" (Henrey II, 215). - "Das Erscheinen der deutschen Version von Millers Gartenbuch im Jahr 1750 markiert den endgültigen Sieg der Aufklärung und die Wende zum modernen Gartenbau" (Wimmer/Lauterbach S. 10).
