"The first color-plate national flora of England" (Robert de Belder)

Das bedeutende botanische Werk enthält nicht nur die Beschreibung der Flora von London und seiner Umgebung, sondern von der gesamten Flora Englands. "The book contains some of James Sowerby's first botanical illustrations. Other artists involved were Sydenham Edwards and W. Kilburn. The Flora Londinensis is much more comprehensive in scope than its title suggests for it embraces most of the English flora, as a result of which it should be properly regarded as the first color-plate national flora of England." (De Belder) - Zweiter Druck der ersten Ausgabe, kenntlich an der Verlagsadresse des Verfassers "Botanic-Garden, Lambeth-Marsh".
