Erste Ausgabe des reizvoll illustrierten Pflanzenwerks von Thomas Martyn (1735-1825).

Martyn war Professsor der Botanik an der Universität Cambridge. Die fein gestochenen und sorgfältig kolorierten Tafeln zeigen blühende Kräuter, Gräser, Blumen und mancherlei Nutzpflanzen bis hin zu Eichenlaub.

EINBAND: Halblederband der Zeit mit goldgeprägtem Rückentitel. 22,5 : 14 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit 108 kolorierten Kupfertafeln von F. P. Nodder. - ZUSTAND: Stellenw. gering stockfleckig, Tafeln meist etw. gebräunt, Bd. II teils mit schmalem Wasserrand am Kopfsteg, 2 Titel mit sauber gelöschtem Besitzeintrag im Oberrand, 1 Titel dort mit Randabschnitt. Ecken etw. bestoßen. Insgesamt gutes Exemplar. - PROVENIENZ: Exlibris Michael Lührs.
