Grease pastels
Grease pastels are made by adding mineral wax, beeswax, poppy oil and similar binders to the pastel pigments. The result is a firm consistency; when applied to paper, the colors can be creamy. These colors do not dissolve in water and are not water-miscible. Grease pastels evens tick to smooth paper. Relatively stable, grease pastels differ greatly from dry pastels.
