The hammer price is the auctioneering term for the price at which the auctioneer's gavel falls to indicate the final bid for an object, sold or not. The German terms are "Hammerpreis" or "Zuschlagspreis". The hammer price of a sold object does not include the buyer's premium and other surcharges such as VAT (see Conditions of Sale).
