Munich, 31 May 2011 – The respectable amount of € 15.000 was grossed in the charity auction in the Kultfabrik on Grafingerstraße 6 in Munich on 26 May. Auctioneer Robert Ketterer auctioned off some 80 artworks for a good cause.
All works were called up with estimates between € 20 and € 50, regardless whether they were made by a child’s hand or by renowned artists such as Erich Heckel, A.R. Penck, Rupprecht Geiger and Nam June Paik. And this is just why both buyers as well as representatives of the foundation were in a good mood, particularly as the result was clear after just 90 minutes: Despite the incredible bargains, the total result of € 15.000 was realized, the money will entirely go to the Munich Kindl Foundation which cares for Munich children in need.

The chairman of the foundation, Christian Netzer, has a heart of gold for children. "It is our objective to care for the needs of those who our social system does not reach sufficiently. In a city as wealthy as Munich, children, being the weakest members of our society, are always affected strongest by poverty".

Robert Ketterer, owner of Ketterer Kunst, feels the same: "As a Munich based auction house we are not only obligated to care for art, but also for social problems in our city, and this is why I'm particularly happy that this event could contribute to aid needed right in front of our door".
Of course, donations to the charity are always welcome. Please find more information on the foundation’s homepage. Further information can also be obtained directly from Christian Netzer, member of the foundation’s executive board, under kontakt@muenchner-kindl-stiftung.de.

The Munich Kindl Foundation is looking back onto 40 years of tradition and wants to continue helping children and young adults in 2011. Their support includes financial aid for playgrounds, help for children in need and donations to projects for disabled people and other sensible projects. A special concern is the improvement of social inequalities, violence prevention and better chances for disabled children and young adults. The foundation is non-commercial, thus their assets go almost entirely to the recipient, all in line with the foundation’s motto: Children are the future – improving their chances is our mission!
