Dube L 22. Monogrammed on the stone. One of four known copies. On laid paper. 27 : 22 cm (10,6 : 8,6 in). Sheet: 40,5 x 29 cm (15,9 x 29 in). In 1907 Ernst Ludwig Kirchner produced his first lithographs. “Kirchner’s colour lithographs are among his most exquisite graphic works. In a technique he invented himself, which made it possible for him to pull proofs in as many colours as desired from one stone, emerged prints of highly sophisticated, painterly richness” (Annemarie Dube-Heynig, E.L. Verso: Akt vor Holzfigur. Around 1910. Pencil drawing. With the faded estate stamp of the Kunstmuseum Basel (Lugt 1570b) and the handwritten registry number "L Dre/bg 1 D". The drawing on the reverse shows the sculpture "Stehende, Karyatide" from 1910 (Henze WVZ 1910/09, with illustration of the drawing)
Paper minimally not fresh. Lower right corner with two brown stains as well as with small colour loss. Upper corners as well as right margin with minor thin spots on the reverse. With old pencil inscriptions on the margins.
