The motif of this sheet had already been developed by Joan Miró in the lithograph "L'Étrangère" (Mourlot 184) from the same year. The superficial application of the paint tand the twist into the horizontal leads to an altered and expressive appearance of the motif. Joan Miró chose this variant with minimal modifications for the cover of the exhibition catalog "Sur 4 murs" by the Galerie Maeght, 1958 (cf. Mourlot 185, Cramer 51). [EH].
