Born in Hilden in 1971, Miriam Vlaming she went to Leipzig in 1994, in order to study painting at the ‘Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst‘(Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig) under Arno Rink. The following years she accepted calls to the ‘Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Kultur‘ and the ‘Abendakademie‘ in Leipzig.

Our work "Echoes of my Footsteps" is dominated by figurative motifs, shimmering through a layer of wash-outs and overpaintings like an echo of moments past. With mastery characteristic of artists of the ‘New Leipzig School‘ she attains an alienation of a figuration based on photographic models. The subdued earthen palette is the most characteristic trait of Vlaming‘s oeuvre, delivering proof of her great talent.

She has received international honors in exhibition in, among others, Berlin, Beijing, New York, Leipzig and Düsseldorf. The artist lives and works in Berlin. [KH].
