Zwei neunflammige Prunkleuchter. Um 1800, Paris.
Bronze cast, engraved, chiselled, fire gilded.
Each with engraved signature "THOMIRE À PARIS" on stand. 79 cm (31,1 in).
Trefoil stand with curved walls, twice jaggered, with palmette frieze. Bell-shaped stand, held by three full plastic volutes in broad palmette ending. With a baluster above, with palmette shields in heart banding. The fluted, slightly conically worked shaft is contrasted to the stand by a freeze with wave band. Six chandelier arms mounted in circular arrangement below tip of shaft. Shaft crowned with three further chandelier arms as well as a stylized torched with jagged flame.
According to the collector Harry Beyer, the chandeliers were in possession of the Swiss ambassador in Berlin.
