Robert Longo is one of the most innovative contemporary artists in the field of Photorealism. The charcoal drawing of the same name from 2003, today in possession of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, served as model for this pigment print from 2012. It is part of the series of 8 sheets "The Sickness of Reason", in which Longo broaches the issue of a bomb explosion's terrible destructiveness as well as its aesthetic fascination. [KP].
