In 1996 Moritz Götze was awarded the art prize of the state Saxony-Anhalt, in 1997 the 'Grafikpreis der Vereinigten Zigarettenfabriken'. At the beginning of the new millenium Moritz Götze was in charge of the design for the Leipzig Book Fair (2000-2004), and active as stage designer ("Hamlet", Neues Theater in Halle). Works by Moritz Götze, who has had numerous solo shows since the 1990s, are in possession of the Dresden Kupferstich-Kabinett, the Sprengel Museum Hanover or the Indiana University Art Museum in Bloomington. The artist lives and works in his hometown Halle. [CB/KP].
