As of 1992/93 Lüpertz was exclusively occupied with the depiction of human faces, rendering them in various techniques and dimensions on different types of image carriers, however, alsways "en face". They can be placed in a row, like in an ancestral portrait gallery, even the most abstract illustration hints at the motif. [DB].
