Sorlier CS 26. Signed and numbered. Inscribed 'CH. SORLIER SCULP.' and 'MARC CHAGALL PINX.' in stone. From an edition of 75 Roman numbered copies. On wove paper by Arches (with watermark). 59.8 x 46.4 cm (23.5 x 18.2 in). Sheet: 74,5 x 53 cm (29,3 x 20,8 in).
Sheet 1 from the series 'Nizza und die Côte d´Azur' (cf. Cramer Books 69). A gouache by Marc Chagall, printed by Mourlot (verso with edition note) served as model for the color lithograph executed by Charles Sorlier. [EH].
