Sheet: 68 x 50 cm (26,7 x 19,6 in). The limited edition of this woodcut was printed from the artist's original wooden block (Möller 11) in 2013 through the art printshop "Clemens Büntig Editionen" and was released by the "Ernst Rathenau Kunsthandel und Verlag". With the motif of the lovers Karl Schmidt-Rottluff illustrated intimacy and erotic tension between a man and a woman in strong intensity. With great expressiveness he transfers the impression onto the wooden block. For he was predominantly occupied with formal issues in those days, developing a reduced gand geometrical style, he cut the "Liebenden" in limewood which the artist could process in all directions. Limitied anniversary edition of five rare motifs by the artist. This is a particularly sensitive motif which has never been offered on the international auction market. (Source: www.artnet.de).
