Kauernde 25. 1925.
Bronze with black brown patina.
Berger 76. With monogram and foundry mark "Guss: H. Noack Berlin Friedenau" on base as well as with stamp "Made in Germany" and inscription "I". One of presumably at least 15 casts, of which 6 were executed posthumously. Height: 28.4 cm (11.1 in).
The sculpture of the "Kauernde" (Squatting), which is particularly captivating for its sketch-like spontaneous execution, served as model for the almost life-size version that was executed as a fountain figure for the banker Hugo Simon. [JS].

With a photo expertise by Dr. Ursel Berger, from 19 September, 2015.

PROVENANCE: Private collection Great Britain.
