Our wash pen and ink drawing must be regarded in connection with the graphic cycle "Haarmann II" which Alfred Hrdlicka made six years after "Haarman I" by commission of the Galerie Rosenbach in Hanover. He examined the story of the mass murderer Friedrich Haarmann (1879-1925) in several sculptures, drawings and writings, among them the so-called "Haarmann-Fries" today in possession of the Sprengel Museum in Hanover. [EH].
