• Today Rainer Fetting's works can be found in many important musems, among them the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main and the Berlinische Galerie Museum für Moderne Kunst, Berlin.
• Along with gehört Fetting With his expressive as well as both timeles yet contemporary works, Fetting, along with Salomé, Helmut Middendorf and Luciano Castelli, was one of the founding members of the "Neue Wilde" (New Wild Artists) in the 1970s.
• In 2021 the artist's work is honored in two solo shows at the DORTMUNDER U
Center for Arts and Creativity and im Vincent Van Gogh Huis in Zundert (NL), as well as in may group exhibitions, among others at the Ernst Barlach Haus / Stiftung Hermann F. Reemtsma, Hamburg, the Berlinische Galerie Museum für Moderne Kunst, Berlin, the Saint Louis Art Museum (USA), the Pori Art Museum (Finland) and at the Neue Galerie im Haus Beda in Bitburg
