• Fine and early composition, particularly captivating for its closeness and presumably made in context of the paintings "Freundinnen" (Wohlert 327) and "Frühlingsabend" (Wohlert 541)
• The cheek to cheek figure constellation of the two nudes is of preparatory relevance for the famous painting "Zwei Mädchen" (1935, Kunsthalle Mannheim)
• Hofer's works are part of many acclaimed public collections like the Folkwang Museum, Essen, the Museum Ludwig, Cologne, and the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa
