Woll 673. Schiefler 510. Signed, dated "Juni 1921" [sic!], titled "Patz [sic!] am Frankfurter Bahnhof" and inscribed with a dedication. The catalog raisonné mentions 18 copies in public collections. On firm creme wove paper. 30 x 41.5 cm (11.8 x 16.3 in). Sheet: 36,5 x 48,5 cm (14,3 x 19 in).

• Subtly moduled print, both delicate-transparent as well as rich in contrast.
• Other copies are in possession of, among others, the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Nationalgalerie Oslo.
• The urban scene with a strong depth effect shows a gathering on the Frankfurt station forecourt on occassion of the funeral of Walther Rathenau (1867-1922), industrialist, liberal politician and at that time German Foreign Minister, who was killed by right-wing extremists.
• In the 1920s Edvard Munch came to Germany several times, visiting, among others, Berlin, Chemnitz, Dresden, Frankfurt/Main, Halle/Saale, Heidelberg, Cologne, Lübeck, Mannheim, Munich, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden
