• One of Picasso's earliest ceramics, made in Vallauris in the south of France.
• Picasso was so enthusiastic about the city and the technical possibilities ceramics offered him that he decided to settle there, which marked the beginning of an extremely productive phase.
• Picasso's ceramics are unique in their form and imagery, they are considered a separate group of works in the oeuvre of the most ingenious artist of the 20th century
