Artist Statement:
Based on the collage, I combine plant and body fragments with landscapes and organic forms in my works. Leaves and parts of the body soaked in color intertwine with landscape details and color gradients to create surreal imagery: formal breaks, details and hard edges are juxtaposed with intimate sensuality so that a dense composition of opposites emerges.
A color urgency, settled between explosiveness and delicacy, permeates my paintings.
The sometimes paradisiacal, sometimes dystopian illusion shows a game of alternately loosening and condensing compositional strategies. The gaze wanders between natural phenomena, dynamic and lively application of paint, light and color.
The canvas becomes an intimate stage on which everything acts according to an immanent rhythm and at the same time oscillates between naturalism and synthesis.
