• Early work from the famous "Scheibenbilder" ("Disc Pictures") series boasting vibrant colors.
• Progressive all-over painting: Nay made his international breakthrough with his "Scheibenbilder".
• In the year it was created, Nay was featured in the Venice Biennale; the following year, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, showed Nay's "Scheibenbilder" in the exhibition "German Art of the Twentieth Century".
• In 2002, “Sonnenzirkel” was exhibited in the major Nay retrospective at the Hypo-Kulturstiftung in Munich and at the Kunstmuseum Bonn.
