• A cosmopolitan scene from the Belle Époque, in which Cucuel captured the elegance and independence of modern women in a casual style.
• Created during the heyday of his career, it is one of the works that established Cucuel's international reputation as a chronicler of urban joie de vivre.
• Influenced by his training in Paris and the French Impressionists, Cucuel combines their painting style with the sensual imagery of the Munich Secession.
