Signed, dated, titled, and inscribed with “oben” on the reverse of the stretcher, and inscribed with a direction arrow. 130 x 180 cm (51.1 x 70.8 in). [AW].
• Peter Brüning transfers the signs and symbols of maps and road signs into his distinctive pictorial language.
• Shortly after its creation, the work was exhibited on multiple occasions.
• Participant in documenta II, III, and 4 (1959, 1964, 1968).
• Brüning’s works are in, among others, the Sammlung Ludwig, Aachen, the Osthaus Museum, Hagen, and the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart.
PROVENANCE: Turske Fine Art, Cologne (with a gallery label on the back of the stretcher).

another 3 % of the hammer price from 50,000.01 to 200,000 euros,
another 1 % for the part of the sales proceeds from 200,000.01 to 350,000 euros,
another 0.5 % for the part of the sale proceeds from 350,000.01 to 500,000 euros and
another 0.25 % of the hammer price over 500,000 euros.
The maximum total of the resale right fee is EUR 12,500.
The artist‘s resale right compensation is VAT-exempt.
