I in zweiter Ausgabe (erstmals 1779). - Der aus Nürnberg stammende John Miller (eigtl. Joh. Seb. Müller; 1715-80) übersiedelte 1744 nach England und veröffentlichte dort das gleichnamige berühmte Hauptwerk in Folio (1777). Linnaeus selbst betrachtete deren Tafeln als "more beautiful and more accurate than any that had been since the world began" (Sitwell/Blunt S. 33). - Tlw. leicht gebräunt und vereinz. stockfleckig, 1 Textbl. mit hinterl. Einrissen. Einbde. berieben und etw. bestoßen, Innengelenke tlw. leicht gelockert.
With 2 col. engr. titles, 2 col. engr. frontispieces and 190 col. copperplates by J. Miller. 19th cent. half calf with gilt spine. - Partly slight browning, here and there foxing, 1 text leaf with rebacked tears. Binding rubbed and bumped, inner joints slightly loosened.
