Orient. - Koran. Arabia manuscript on paper. With double page unwane in gold and in colours. Turkey, A. H. 1269 = A. D. 1853. 312 ll. Size of sheets 17,7 : 11,6 cm. Black ink, 15 lines. - Contemp. green morocco binding with rich ornamental gilt tooling and clasp.
Well-preserved Koran manuscript in a decorative calf binding. Written in Nashki style, black ink with several diacritic characters in red and blue. Beginnings of suras in red, text area with bordering line in colours, the broad margins with numerous vignettes in gold and in colours. - Paper somewhat evenly browned. Isolated stains or wiped ink, opening pages with small marginal defects in places and somewhat stronger browned.
