Plesch 62. - De Belder 28. - First edition of the magnificent work that counts among the most beautiful botanic works of the 18th century. "One of the first English botanical books to be issued in parts and one of the first with hand-colored plates." (De Belder) - Foxed and browned in places (5 plates stronger), 6 plates and 1 title leaf with marginal tears (partly padded), 2 plates with small defective spot outside the image, flying endpapers partly detached and with ms. name entries. Bindings scraped and damaged. All in all mostly clean copy with fine impressions of the coppers in a nice thorough colouring.
