Manuskripte. - Hamburger Stadtrecht von 1497. - Von ordynerynge der hogest(en) overyheit der statt Hamborch. - Recess anno domini voffteinn hündert neyenn unnde twintich. - 2 parts. Low German manuscript on paper. Hamburg 1533 (part 1) and 1552 (part 2). 95 ll.; 81 ll. - Size of leaves ca. 19,3 : 14 cm. Black-brown and red-brown ink, ca. 28-30 lines. - Contemp. calf binding over wooden boards, richly blind- and roll-tooled (biblical figures), center panel with roll-tooling with heads and the Hamburg city crest.

Neatly written manuscript regarding Hamburg town ordinances and privileges, in a revised edition from 1497. - The Hamburg municipal law, originating in the 13th century, was revised several times in the 15th and the arly 16th century. Unlike other municipal laws, the Hamburg documents were the only ones that were not printed, but were always passed on in form of manuscripts. - Text in clean OLd German script, headings in Fraktur. Binding with magnificent roll-tooling, amongst it the Hamburg city crest as well as a \tab trademark sign with the initials "H. W." - Covering of binding with tear on spine and rear board as well as loosened on lower edges; movable clasps removed.
