PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany.

EXHIBITION: Berliner Secession 1911.

Pastose still life by the versatile artist who had made Itzehoe his home in 1908. It presumably was for his participation in the Secession exhibitions that he had been in contact with Herwarth Walden since 1912. He met Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and other expressionist artists in his gallery "Der Sturm". Works by Hablik are in possession of the museum bnamed after him in Itzehoe as well as in public collections in Hamburg, Flensburg, Regensburg, Schleswig and Prague.
