Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr
Atlas novus coelestis.

- "[Doppelmayrs] major work, however, is the Atlas novus coelestis (1742), a collection of diagrams with explanations intended as an introduction to the fundamentals of astronomy. Besides star charts and a selenographic map, the Atlas includes diagrams illustrating the planetary systems of Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, and Riccioli; the elliptic theories of Kepler, Boulliau, Seth Ward, and Mercator; the lunar theories of Tycho Brahe, Horrocks and Newton; and Halley's cometary theory." (DSB IV, 166)

EINBAND: Pappband der Zeit. 52,5 : 33 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit gestochenem Frontispiz, gestochener Titelvignette und 30 und 2 zusätzlichen kolorierten Kupferkarten und -tafeln. - KOLLATION: 1 Bl. (st. 2).
