Eines der wenigen Vorzugsexemplare der ersten französischen Ausgabe mit altkolorierten Kupfertafeln.

Wesentlich erweiterte und erstmals illustrierte Ausgabe. Hier in einer Vorzugsausgabe auf besserem Papier und in Maroquin gebunden. "Les exemplaires en grand papier ont les planches coloriées; ils se rencontrent habituellement habillés de maroquin, mais deviennent de plus en plus rares" (Thiébaud). - Mit prachtvollen Vogeldarstellungen, das Frontispiz zeigt eine Adelsgesellschaft bei der Falkenjagd.

EINBAND: Roter Maroqinband der Zeit mit reicher Rückenvergoldung, goldgeprägter Deckelbordüre, Steh- und Innenkantenvergoldung sowie Ganzgoldschnitt. 31 : 23 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit koloriertem gestochenem Frontispiz und 30 altkolorierten Kupfertafeln von Martinet. - KOLLATION: XII S., 2 Bll., 464 S. - ZUSTAND: Teils schwach gebräunt, sonst sauber und breitrandig. Einbd. minim. fleckig und berieben, Rücken verfärbt, RDeckel mit Schabspur, Ecken bestoßen. - PROVENIENZ: Gestochenes Wappen-Exlibris (19. Jh.), Titel mit altem Stempel der Universitätsbibl. Sibirien.

First French edition. De luxe copy on large paper and with colored plates. Contains colored engraved frontispiece of a party of falconers and 30 handcolored engraved plates after Martinet. Contemp. red morocco with richly gilt spine, inside and outside gilt border as well as gilt edges. - Partly slight browning, else clean and wide-margined. Binding minim. stained and rubbed, spine discolored, rear board with scratch, corners bumped. Engr. armorial bookplate, title with old library stamp of the University of Sibiria.
