Der sechste Band aus der zehnbändigen Prachtausgabe. An dem Gesamtwerk waren über 80 Zeichner und Stecher beteiligt, verantwortlich für die Vorlagen und die Kolorierung war F. N. Martinet, für die Ausführung E. L. Daubenton. "This edition was certainly the most ambitious and comprehensive bird book which had appeared at the time of its publication, and ranks still as one of the most important of all bird books from the Collector's point of view" (Sitwell/Buchanan).

Contemp. calf with richly gilt spine and 2 col. labels, gilt fillets, inside gilt border and gilt edges. - Partly minor waterstaining. Boards partly rubbed, lower spine end chipped, front joints with small tear. Ex-libris Eckhard Günther.
